We're On the Move

Not the pounds, I'm afraid but us, as a family. In less than 48 hours the removal men will be here to pack us up and in less than 72 hours we'll be on the way to our new house and new life in Somerset. So, as of Wednesday morning my scales will be boxed up and I don't know when I'll see them again - depends how quickly we get round to unpacking. But I'm not going to miss them - I'm 2lbs up from my lowest weight at the moment, so it's a bit depressing to jump on them each morning and see 13st 11lbs blinking back at me; it's not helped by the fact that we're trying to use up (ie eat up) the contents of our fridge, freezer and cupboards before we move! Hopefully next time I weigh in the stress of moving and the extra exercise of humping boxes around might have helped shift those pesky pounds. Not sure how soon we'll be back online, so I'll wish you all a happy and chocolate-free (if that's the way you'd prefer it) Easter.

Lightbulb Moment, and a New Lowest Low!

Over the past few days my band has been unreasonably tight; I've been struggling to get even a few mouthfuls of 'proper' food down - ie lunch and dinner type foods such as lasagne, chicken, broccoli, leeks; I know these don't sound like the most band-friendly foods but I can usually eat more of them than I have been since the weekend. Needless to say 'unproper' foods such as biscuits and chocolate still go down without any sort of struggle! At first I thought perhaps it was TOTM related, except TOTM was last week so that didn't really tally; then I wondered if it was because I had a bit of a cold, although I've never noticed tightness being caused by that sort of thing before. Then this morning it suddenly dawned on me : it's stress-related; all this house selling/moving business is making me stressed without really realising it. I knew I was stressed yesterday because I had to go and buy a(nother) new house/interiors magazine as a 'treat'!

But, on the up (or should the be down?!) side, the scales recorded a new all-time low for me this morning:

13st 9lbs - 191lbs - BMI 31.8

(a total loss so far of 71lbs; 23lbs to go)

Just 1lb away from some new comparison shots.

No News Worth Reporting, except for a little BOOB-ness

I'm a bit quiet on the weight-loss blogging front (my other blog receives marginally more attention as it is less limited in its field!); I'm still hovering around 13st 10lb/13st 11lbs (192-193lbs) depending on what sort of an eating day I've had. I hadn't been to the gym for a week or so due to all sorts of things happening in the rest of my life (mostly involving my darling child and lots of visits to the dentist/hospital after he bashed one of his teeth on a slide at the park - ouch), but I'm back into the swing of things again this week. However, we are due to move house in a fortnight to a completely new area so I think gym-going will be taking a backseat for a little while until we are settled in. There is a gym right next door to small child's new nursery, so if it's a good one that could work really well; I'll keep you posted.

I've put myself down on the 'possible' list for attending the BOOBS II meet-up in Chicago. I can't say for definite yet as with all house move, house renovating, car buying, etc, etc, it's going to be an expensive year without the added cost of a flight and hotel, plus all the spending money a girl needs for a weekend away! At the moment flights from London to Chicago for the end of Sept are about £500 (that's just shy of $800 at today's exchange rate); I'm waiting to see if any airlines will have sales on which would make the trip more affordable. Alternatively, hubby suggested we have a family holiday in/around Chicago this year and I can do BOOBS as part of that trip. Watch this space!
