Super-Tight Band and Another 1lb Down!!

My band has been soooooooooper-tight for the last couple of days; not crazy tight like some people have experienced where even getting water down is an issue, but tight enough to bother and annoy me. I can pretty much eat just a couple of mouthfuls of whatever meal I'm attempting, and that's it - full and/or stuck. The PBs have been plentiful this week, and that's really no fun at all. I can only assume it's because TOTM is on the way; I think I've blogged before that I seem to get pre-TOTM tightness rather than actual TOTM tightness, although I don't get it every month, which makes it more annoying in its unpredictability. HOWEVER, on the positive side - the result of being able to eat so little, is that I've lost another pound!

13st 4lbs - 186lbs - BMI 30.9
(a total loss so far of 76lbs; 18lbs to go)

This takes my BMI down another notch and into the 30-point-somethings. Just 6lbs more and I'll be in the 'overweight' category, rather than 'obese'. I certainly don't feel 'obese' any more, so I'm looking forward to being officially out of that category.

I found some absolutely horrendous photos of pre-band me when I was sorting through the thousands of photos on dotted about on various computers, laptops, phones, cameras. I'm almost embarrassed to show you, but for the sake of posterity and to see just how far I've come, I'm going to post them. But not today, as this is a celebratory post. Maybe tomorrow!

Or Perhaps There's Something in the Water...

I don't know what it is, but something is helping me lose weight at the moment. It's not the gym because I haven't been since the week before we moved; it's not the salad leaves and celery sticks I've been living on, because I detest celery and don't exactly love salad; it's not the never eating chocolate or cake or biscuits, because I eat all of those on a daily basis.

What I do know is that I'm sitting at my computer a lot less and out in the fresh air a lot more, so I guess the fact that I'm moving around more is leading to 1) less time sitting around eating = less calories in 2) more time moving around = more calories burnt; and we all know what that equation equals: pounds lost!

But, nonetheless, a 2lb overnight weightloss was a major surprise for me, especially this far into the journey when I've expected to have to fight for every ounce lost (and, I must admit, I've definitely not been fighting, but rather more going with the flow and enjoying the weightloss I've achieved so far.)

It Must Be the Country Air...

... or the running round after a small boy who hasn't been in nursery, or the football playing in our huge (to us) back garden, or the walking to and from our other house to see how the renovations are coming along, or walking to the swings, or walking round all the towns and villages that we are discovering in this neck of the woods.

It probably isn't the biscuits for breakfast and slice of cake in the afternoon.

Whatever it is though, I'm not complaining as I've lost another 1lb!

13st 7lbs - 189lbs - BMI 31.4
(a total loss so far of 73lbs; 21lbs to go)

The last time I weighed in at this weight was in 1996; in 1997 I did manage to get down to 11st 7lb (161lbs), but that was the one and only time in living memory that I'd ever weighed so little and the pounds gradually crept back on and kept on creeping over the course of 13 years until I weighed 262lbs and decided to get the band. And now the pounds are creeping in the opposite direction - thank goodness!

New Home, New Low, New Photos

Well, we did it; we moved. In fact, we've been in our new house/village/county for over a week now, but it's been so hectic that I've not had a chance to post before now.

Aside from moving house, I've also been able to move another pound and am at a new low of

13st 8lbs - 190lbs - BMI 31.6
(a total loss so far of 72lbs; 22lbs to go)
And that also means it's time for comparison photos!

I'm so pleased with the difference losing 72lbs has made. Still waaaaaaay too much of a tummy, but that may only ever be solved by the surgeon's knife, should I ever be brave enough, but the rest isn't looking too bad, even if I do say so myself!
