Hello Brain, This Is Your Mistress Speaking

How many stucky episodes and how many visits to the porcelain throne is it going to take before I realise that bread + band = not a good mixture?

This morning I took small boy for a walk. When we got back hubby said 'I boiled up some eggs so we could have them for lunch. I thought I might make you a rocket, chicken and hard boiled egg salad.' Not being a mahoosive fan of the old salad leaf in general and knowing that chicken and I aren't the best of friends anymore, I turned down this kind offer. Then hubby offered egg mayo on crackers; again, I said no. Then came the offer of an egg mayo sandwich; my eyes lit up, my brain switched off, my tummy gurgled and it was all systems go.

I managed this much (and even that was a struggle, but I soldiered on valiantly.)

Then I had to pay a visit to the littlest room.

  1. I've found out the hard way that bread is just one of those foods I have to give up for now, but it's probably for the best. I LOVED bread. Too Much. I totally miss having sandwiches, but have you tried tortillas? They are just a little easier to get down...not as "bready"

  2. So sorry for the stuck episode. I have been eating toasted Ezekiel Bread. It has 5 grams of protein and it is delicious. You can find it in the freezer section of your super market.

  5. I can still eat bread. Not in the same quantities but thats a good thing too. Tomatoes are hard work because of the skin. Hope you enjoyed yours. I think this is a long learning curve. Stuff that goes down one day wont the next???
My head still has me finishing meals when my band wont let me past the half way mark. Great isn't it?

  6. Ouch-I lost bread and then got it back when I learned how to chew better and stop sooner (at least a year into things). Maybe...that will happen for you?
